Description:

I gather that this odd Tragopogon is a hybrid of Goatsbeard (T pratensis) and Salsify (T porrifolius). Both species are present in the area (Salsify in serious abundance).

This is the hybrid between Goat's-beard and Salsify. At least 12 plants were amongst 200+ Salsify in a set-aside field.
