Trying to get the canadensis, sumatrensis, floribunda (AKA bilbaoana) and bonariensis sorted out....using Bob Leaney's key in BSBI News No.135. Doesn't look as though we have any UK ISpot photos of C bonariensis. Anyone want to contribute one?? (correction - I seem to have posted one myself from E Norfolk: brain cells evidently starting the downward spiral into old age...)
Update 14/1 - most records are correct or else I have managed to shift the likely ID, but there are a few, particularly older records, where the 'default' ID even from experienced botanists was C canadensis, simply because most of us were not then familiar with the more recent incomers (esp floribunda) and I can't overcome the sheer weight of agreements all by myself. If you have a track-change notification that something you identified or agreed to has changed, would you go back and have another look and see what you think now? For the record....Spins was a good few years ahead of us in ID ability!
