These exceptionally purple toadstools are coming up in a pile of woodchippings left by the electricity company after trimming back trees. Its a mixed pile of conifer and broadleaf woodchip. The boradleaf including mainly lime and ash. The pile has stood under a conifer (some sort of thuja I think) on the edge of lawn for about 2 years. Fully open the caps are ca. 10cm across. Fading to dull brown with age. Coming up over several weeks in groups (one group in in situ photo)
