Observation - Silver Wattle or Mimosa, Shanklin Isle of Wight - UK and Ireland. Description: This native of Australia and Tasmania was introduced to the UK in 1820.It is widely planted on the south coast and Devon and Cornwall. There are some very good specimens on the Isle of Wight, where as can be seen from my photos it is almost in full flower

This native of Australia and Tasmania was introduced to the UK in 1820.It is widely planted on the south coast and Devon and Cornwall. There are some very good specimens on the Isle of Wight, where as can be seen from my photos it is almost in full flower.In the Leguminosae family (Mimosoideae).Lovely to have an exotic tree flowering so early!
