I think these might be the egg coils of Sea Lemon (Doris pseudoargus). However, I would welcome confirmation or correction by someone who knows more about shore species than a beginner.
Found in a patch of Saccharina latissima (Sugar Kelp) that grows on a pile of old ballast stones which are in the intertidal zone and only dry out on a few tides per year. The white coils waved as the water moved gently. Very white, to the point they stood out visually on the brown kelp and in the sandy bottom around the ballast stones. Site is a shallow bay with moderate shelter from the waves.
