Spring comes slowly

Observation - Spring comes slowly - UK and Ireland. Description: The same tree and the same oak gall as observation on 14/03/2021 https://www.ispotnature.org/communi

The same tree and the same oak gall as observation on 14/03/2021 https://www.ispotnature.org/communities/uk-and-ireland/view/observation/819574/old-oak-gall - the images here include two from that day for comparison.
.
Now glad I did not remove that gall for a closer look, as it provided a reference for the bud development on the tree between 14 March and 28 April - not that much development?
.
Remain undecided on which oak or hybrid, leaves very curled up and did not survive journey home! Many hybrids are said to be found on Loch Lomondside. Some info re deciding which - various web sites eg https://www.waldwissen.net/en/did-you-already-know/sessile-or-pedunculate-oak and https://naturalresources.wales/media/682917/how-to-id-your-oak-tree.pdf and a pdf from Keele Univ https://www.keele.ac.uk/media/k-microsites/k-arboretum/articles/oaks/separating-oaks.pdf
.
This one is on my spreadsheet now and so I will return to it over the next few weeks, all things being equal. All opinions welcome of course.
