The habitat has a variety grasses and wild flowers, some genuinely wild others planted, including primrose, red campion, white dead nettle, various vetches, birds foot trefoil, yellow rattle, thrift, northern marsh orchid as well as clovers. The site was formerly cultivated fields which ceased to viable as machinery became larger, but part still is in cultivation and has been used for grain, turnips, oilseed rape and was planted with peas this year.
