Thin tellin shell is small, up to 3cms.
The shell is thin and brittle, rounded triangular in shape and a little flattened. One wing (valve), the right, is slightly larger than the other. Mostly ivory coloured, rarely pure white, sometimes quite yellow, all the ranges of red are rarer.
It is commonly found on sandy beaches
