A party of 6 or so House-martins were hunting very low over a bracken-covered slope, on a very windy day. After completing each cicuit of the area, two of them would have an aerial tussle and then the circuits would continue.
Perhaps the explanation is that they were a family group, and the pair involved, comprised a youngster hassling a parent bird for food?
