Didymocyrtis slaptoniense, again
Observation - Didymocyrtis slaptoniense, again - UK and Ireland. Description: I went in search of this lichenicolous fungus today along a walk including the place I found it last
I went in search of this lichenicolous fungus today along a walk including the place I found it last weekend. I managed to find infected Xanthoria parietina thalli on four different trees, all apart from one another, along the walk. This is from the first infected thallus I came across on elder. The fruit bodies had just ripened and were full of mature asci and ascospores measuring around 13 microns long. This post is to go in conjunction with last week's as the asci are also vital for correct identification.
