Observation - Unidentified species of emerald damselfly - UK and Ireland. Description: The wings at rest show this to be an emerald damselfly. I would have identified it as an Emeral Dams
The wings at rest show this to be an emerald damselfly. I would have identified it as an Emeral Damselfly, however it appears to have white pterostigma, those of the Emerald should be "pale brown with a black border" according to the BDS. Unfortunately, the photograph is overexposed and so colours may be affected. Perhaps the final segement of the abdomen could be diagnostic?
