Found growing in an tricky spot it was in the centre of a gorse bush at the edge of a scots pine plantation. The cap was 6cm in dia pale ochre there was no red showing were it was cracked but Kibby's guide says this is not always the case and all other features keyed out correctly. The pores were olivaceous yellow as they were old and there was a faint hint of blue/green on bruising. The stipe was lemon yellow at the apex streaked with scarlet over the remainder when cut through the flesh soon changed colour to deep red below the cortex of the stipe. I ruled out X Porosporus as there were no Quercus and the stipe only has a faint red zone just above the sepia coloured stipe which mine was streaked red.
