Description: large amounts in scattered troops in woodland and on woodland edge, the caps varied from 2- 6cm in dia the younger ones were tawny to brick red older ones slightly scurfy , the gills were cap colour adnate and on older ones you could see a dusting of whit

large amounts in scattered troops in woodland and on woodland edge, the caps varied from 2- 6cm in dia the younger ones were tawny to brick red older ones slightly scurfy , the gills were cap colour adnate and on older ones you could see a dusting of white spores, the stem was cap colour I have put likely as it does say that it can be mistaken for L. fraterna but microscopy would be needed to be 100% sure
