We found this flatworm (?) coiled-up under a piece of wood. The upper side was dark brown almost black and edged by a pale border which was the same colour as the underside. The underside appeared speckled albeit it may be specks of earth - see photographs 3 & 4. The front and back tips were pointed and orange/ red. The worm was covered in mucus and stuck to the side of the box I put it in. The box is 10cm x 6cm and when the worm uncoiled it was longer than the box. I initially thought it was a flatworm, tapeworm or possibly a leech; however, after a quick look online I suspect it may be a New Zealand Flatworm? The habitat is a disused coal Bing which is now part of the local woodland and borders farmland.
