White-cream coloured coral fungi with branching habit and flattened crested branch-tips growing from the base of mature Beech tree and also in ‘pockets’ in grassland beneath canopy. Photo 6 shows an ‘excavated specimen which is growing directly from soil substrate. (Photo 2). Photo 4 shows the youngest specimen which is yet to develop crested tips.
