Two specimens growing close together in open calcareous grassland area. Both specimens have a brownish cap with darker fibrous scales that extend to the edge of the cap. The younger specimen (Photos 1-3) has pink gills and a fragile white stem ring. The gills of older specimen (Photos 4-7) have darkened to brown. Photos 9-10 show chocolate brown spore print. My photos don’t show what I initially thought was a purple hue and having looked at likely Agaricus species I wondered about A. porphyrocephalus? Wondering whether I should send a sample for spore analysis? All advice welcome.
