Observation - Zygina flammigera - UK and Ireland. Description: Size:
Size: <=3 mm.
First observation of this species was with the yellow markings and subsequent sightings of the same in July followed the same genotype. Now well into August and I am finding them with the same pattern but now red, outlined in yellow on a white ground colour. They are not what I first thought, Zygina species, more like Arboridia with the strait diagonal marks. Of the latter, one is associated with Rock Rose, the other with Oak, and the one in question on ornamental Plum at 2 sites. Will be tweeting this to Dr. Tristan Bantcck for a determination. Oh yes! I will be trying for some better images ;-)
