We found this character lurking in our kitchen. I have a feeling it might be what is called a lace-webbed spider, one of the Amaurobiidae. It is posing in our dustpan. :))

As usual, Chinery says there are several similar species and I don't feel inclined to select between A. fenestralis, A. similis or A. ferox (or, indeed, any others that may exist).

Over to a spider specialist with the warning that the colouring may be slightly off.
