Observation - Biting midge larvae - UK and Ireland. Description: A larave of the biting midge family Ceratopogonidae. The larvae are about 1 cm long, are always very straight (as seen in the picture)and have a distinctive way of swimming with the body thrashing in a sinusoidal wave.
