One of two paler red kites seen amongst the many kites dining at Gigrin Farm. A group leader explained that these were leucistic, which, I understand, is a lack of pigment rather than an absence as in albinism. This results in the birds being pale but retaining the eye and beak colour and some of the red/brown feather colour. He went on to say that about 1 in 150 of the Welsh population is leucistic, they had not bred and are all male.
