Might be L. versipelle, L. quercinum(if this still exists) or similar but much smaller and generally not like those species. There were 3 together all full grown and this small size. Pores tiny. Cap with dark reddish tinge. Mixed woodland with horse chestunt, oak, birch but also several other species of conifers such as scots pine and probably poplar as it was close to a pond and there were poplars round that.
As noted in the comments I subsequently added a couple more photos, one of which contains the fungus in question on the left and Boletus edulis on the right against a white background. The final photo shows the fungus in question cut in half
