This was found in short grassland following a cold wet night a few metres from a reed bed. Grass stalks and the leaves of other small plants had been used to provide support for it. I would say that the whole thing was approx. 75mm in height. It had the appearance of candle wax, had no distinct smell and was gelatinous to the touch. As I was watched it new globules appeared and there something, an insect perhaps, moving beneath it. This was one of several such structures all within a couple of metres radius. I have seen 'Cuckoo spit' many times before but nothing like this.
