I found this deer just in a field just outside Woburn Abbey Deer Park (so technically no captive) and what puzzles me is that it has no white rump. I think the neck is too long for a Chinese Water Deer and not large enough for a Red Deer. It also lacks the dorsal stripe of Pere David's Deer, which I saw in the park. Also the lack of spots rules out Chital and Fallow. Any ideas? I'm still sticking with Roe because it has all the characteristics of a Roe doe and I have seen photos of Roe Deer without the white rump patch on Google images.
