Yesterday I posted my first Scottish Primrose of the season - http://www.ispotnature.org/node/405741 now consigned to iSpot history of course. Today I widened my search and found, inevitably, damaged ones as they are very vulnerable to trampling. But there are a great many, so once one's eyes are in they are not difficult to spot.
They are not easy to photograph, the flowers are quite a way from the rosette of leaves and colour is very hard to replicate with the mid- to low-level digital camera precessor.
"Unlike many other primroses -this has anthers and stigmas only on one position (homostyle) and does not have pin and thrum forms." >>Mark Wilson<<
