Observation - Possible Fire Blight on Hawthorn - UK and Ireland. Description: 3m hawthorns in a sheltered valley appeared at first to have frosted damage but individual leaves scattered along stems and some entire twigs had leaves blackened. Early stage seemed to blackening/browning around the leaf stem junction. Some of the very

3m hawthorns in a sheltered valley appeared at first to have frosted damage but individual leaves scattered along stems and some entire twigs had leaves blackened. Early stage seemed to blackening/browning around the leaf stem junction. Some of the very dead leaves had white mycelium on surface under folds of leaf. Colleague who hasn't seen fire blight for 20 years recalled that that had looked the similar.
