Observation - Armillaria mellea? - UK and Ireland. Description: Very puzzled by this one. I was sure it was Honey Fungus, but now doubts have been sown after a discussion about a fly sitting on one of the caps. Very puzzled by this one. I was sure it was Honey Fungus, but now doubts have been sown after a discussion about a fly sitting on one of the caps. Lepiota has been mentioned, but this is emerging from dead wood, not soil, which I thought was required for Lepiota. This is on a dead willow I think, but the same species is nearby on birch and holly stumps. Bootlace structures everywhere around, but not sure this emerges from them. Ideas?
