It's rare to find such a thin and fragile shell so perfect, so distinguishing and so complete.
This one has the lovely name of Faroe Sunset Shell. I am amazed that is the first for iSpot, yet seems, acording to the MBM portal, regularly recorded all 'round UK coasts.
Good numbers are recorded in Orkney, where I normally search but where I have never seen one, no-one I've met has seen one. I think it is quite rare and the similarly coloured Thin Telin (Angulus tenuis) (in picture two), if broken, may be mistakenly attributed.
Picture five is of the location - the perfect active tombolo of St Ninian's (Shetland)
