I found loads of these on a knapweed in my back garden. They are about 1.5 cm long, appear to be quite flat and the legs (8 of them) are tucked away so at first glance they look like pieces of husks or some other plant matter. At first I thought they were the larvae of an unfamiliar ladybird but given the number of legs and the fact that they have bristles I think they may be moth caterpillars.
