Several pictures of mottled tadpoles, swimming under water and coming to the surface occasionally. I saw newts in the pond, but I have checked reference sites and think the mottled tadpoles are frogs. On the other hand, I think the crowds of smaller, black tadpoles that can also be seen in some of the pictures are probably toads, because they are black and because they are shoaling.

In one picture, a tadpole has its mouth at the surface - I don't know whether this means it is feeding or breathing (not sure when they start needing to surface to breathe?)
