Observation - Thrush dilemma - UK and Ireland. Description: This one has me scratching my head! Especially after having spotted (no pun intended) the Mistle Thrush the other day. This one has me scratching my head! Especially after having spotted (no pun intended) the Mistle Thrush the other day. These were in the same area.
I think part of my problem is that I'm certain this is a juvenile. It showed no fear of me and hopped towards me to about 4 feet from me. It was also considerably smaller than a male Blackbird (feeding in the same vicinity) and chased the Thrush away at one point. Also, the greater coverts do not look fully grown (seen clearly in pic. 3).
Finally, in Pic 4 the breast spots look more like 'Mistle' and yet has the 'moustache' of 'Song'

I'm more or less sure I was photographing the same bird.
