Wood ants seem to be numerous on the heaths and to a lesser extent the dunes at Studland Heath, with some very busy nests seen. The unfortunate caterpillar in the second picture was being dragged backwards and forwards by its three captors, who could not seem to decide which way to go. I think the caterpillar might be of the Neglected Rustic moth, but not sure of that.
