This specimen of Spurge Laurel has grown in my garden which adjoins woodland where this species grows, though not abundantly.On the IOW it is associated with heavy clay and chalky soils.
It's foliage is rather handsome and although not fragrant the flowers are interesting.Copse or Wood Laurel is the IOW local name. I have also seen several stands growing in scrubby vegetation on the cliffs.
