Small mushroom growing in grassy area close to some Coprinus comatus.
Stem 4 cm long, a few mm diameter, white.
Cap about 2 cm across, 0.5 cm tall, light brown and pleated from margin to tan central area.
Gills (about 30 of them reach the stem) free from stem.very dark grey with pale edges alternating full length gills with short intermediates, each gill lining up with pleats in cap.
Spores black. By the time I put spores under microscope, cap was beginning to liquify and spores were in clumps. In Melzer's they appear dark brown, oval, smooth, 10-13x6-7 microns
