Observation - unkown fly - UK and Ireland. Description: Tiny all Black fly. Seen on two occasions now feeding on the prey of Garden Spiders. Each time it has been on wrapped up bodies of Honey Bees. I assumed on the first occasion that the bee had released nectar into the web after it had been sedated by th

Tiny all Black fly.
Seen on two occasions now feeding on the prey of Garden Spiders.
Each time it has been on wrapped up bodies of Honey Bees.
I assumed on the first occasion that the bee had released nectar into the web after it had been sedated by the spiders venom, as they concentrated on the head. They were completely oblivious to the spider who tried to knock off the flies by kicking them and twanging its web to cause vibration. Neither action detered the flies
