Inachis and Io were both names of the beautiful daughter of the river god Inachus. When Zeus took a fancy to her, his wife Hera found out and punished the girl by turning her into a heifer. She set the 100 eyed monster Argos to watch over the heifer/girl. Eventually pity was taken on Io and the monster was killed to release her. Hera's beloved monster was then honoured by having his 100 eyes placed on the peacock's tail.

The butterfly's 'eyes' remind us of the peacock's eyes, which remind us of the story, which started with the girl Inachis (or Io)...bingo!!
