Sicus is still the commonest species of Thick-headed Fly locally, but Conops flavipes and quadrimaculata are just starting to appear on Creeping Thistle/Ragwort and will soon take over from Sicus. Later in August, Physocephala rufipes becomes the common one for a short time.
