Growing out from the side of a rocky bank foliage leaves 5-8 opposite pairs of leaflets that are tipped with a single terminal leaflet.flat topped inflorescence made up of lot's of tiny flowers.There are a lot of myths connected to this tree,it was planted by crofter's next to there homes to ward off witches also nailed to cattle sheds to protect animals from witches and one more which was it was planted in graveyards to keep the dead in there graves and prevent ghosts from appearing in the neighbourhood I wonder if anyone know of any more.
