After over seven years working as the iSpot Curator Martin Harvey is leaving.

Martin has been a core member of the iSpot team, playing a key role in developing and managing the unique reputation system, overseeing our busy online community as well as being the main contact with the many UK experts, schemes and societies represented on the site. We thank Martin for all his hard work over the years and wish him well for the future.

He says “Working on the iSpot project has been a very rewarding experience, it’s been a fantastic privilege to see the community grow and to share in the amazing wildlife discoveries. iSpot has undoubtedly played a big part in helping people learn about wildlife and how to identify it, and I look forward to seeing it grow into the future. I’ll be sad to leave the team, but look forward to remaining active on the site and contributing observations and identifications where I can.”

With Martin’s departure we welcome Dr. Mike Dodd who now takes over this role. Mike has been involved in teaching and research at The Open University for many years, he also played a role in the development of iSpot and is an active member of the community.
