National Garden Bioblitz 2014: 31 May to 1 June 2014 - UK and Ireland : [upload-images-GardenBioBlitz_140.jpg] The popular Garden Bioblitz returns in 2014 on 31 May to 1 June - find out how to take part, and discover the variety of life in you
How much variety of life is in your garden? What creatures can you find there?
Join in with this year's National Garden Bioblitz to find out.
iSpot is pleased to be supporting this year's event, following the success of 2013's first ever national garden bioblitz. If you can find wildlife in your garden, iSpot can help you learn what it is and how to dentify it.
The event happens over the weekend of 31 May to 1 June. Full details of how to take part via iSpot, iRecord, Facebook and Twitter are on the Garden Bioblitz website. Who will get the highest total this year? Start off with some easy species using the Garden Bioblitz Top 20 species to find.
Identify or record?
- If you're seeking help with identifying your garden species then add your observation, ideally with a clear photo, to iSpot. To do this you need to be registered on iSpot (it's free!), and then you'll be able to click on "Add an observation". Make sure you add the tag in the "descriptive tags" box when you add your observation: #gbb14
- If you already know what your species is and want to add the record direct to the Garden Bioblitz list, you can do this via the Garden Bioblitz iRecord page - you'll also need to register on that (also free!).
Once your identification has been confirmed on iSpot, it's best to add the record to the Garden Bioblitz iRecord page so it can be added to the Garden Bioblitz total. (Details of all the #gbb14 observations on iSpot will be passed to the Garden Bioblitz team to ensure that they are not overlooked, but this can take a while so it's best to add them direct to iRecord if you can.)

"A massive thank you to everyone who took part in the 2013 Garden BioBlitz. We received thousands of records; from worms in Cornwall to a Pine Marten in Scotland. Now we're looking forward to the next one! The weekend of 31st May to 1st June is the date for your diary". Liz, Ryan, John, Richard and Jane - Team #GBB14
