Over the past five years iSpot’s team of part-time Biodiversity Mentors have played an important role providing frontline support for iSpot, helping both users and potential users. They have presented the wonders of nature engaging with tens of thousands of members of the public across the UK through a range of inspiring, enjoyable and captivating activities.

Our Biodiversity Mentor programme comes to an end, for now, and we would like to thank the team for all their hard work. This kind of hands on face-to-face interaction is extremely important for iSpot in helping people to build lasting relationships with nature and would not have been as successful without the dedicated time and commitment of our regional Biodiversity Mentors:

Isabel Varela – London
Colin Higgins – South East
Trudy Russell – South West
Bob Ford – South
Graham Banwell – Yorkshire
Keith Bowey –North
Rob Coleman – East of England
Debbie Alston – East Midlands
Joe Botting – West Midlands
Denise Philip – North West
Clare Flynn – Wales
Emma Kemp – Scotland
Gretta McCarron – Ireland

We would also like to thank the other Mentors who have worked with us in the past:
Stacey Cougill, Manga Waggott, Rachael Rhodes, Helen Greaves, Mary MacLachlan, Katie Hadwin, Gemma Gregory, Rose Little, Sara Bellis, Jon Kean, Hillary Vipond and Murdo MacDonald.

With the close of the programme you will see the iSpot Biodiversity Mentor ID badge removed and there will also be changes to the ‘In Your Area’ Menu with links to the Mentor profile pages removed.

We are now completing our reports for the Mentors Programme and collating a range of useful resources developed through our Mentor programme over the years and we will make some of this available to iSpot users in the coming weeks.
