Clearing the cobwebs inside my head
This may be a temp project - or may need to wait until the experts tell me otherwise.
If the Protea Atlas Project is to be believed Witches Broom is caused by a MITE - which is recognised by the iSpot dictionary.
Is the dictionary wrong - please help.
I hope that the weight of consensus will change the status; I cannot find a link to at EOL or Wikipedia.
Protea Witchesbroom Mite (Aceria proteae)
is what I read on the Protea Atlas site
"Witches broom occurs on a variety of Proteaceae species and is associated with the Eriphyoid mite Aceria proteae. The symptoms are a fine proliferation of small leaves and stems, often with a redder tint than normal leaves"
