Exemplars

Exemplars - Southern Africa : Definition: Exemplar = an observation that is ideal in illustrating (by both pictures and description) the diagnostic features of a taxon. Question: How to set up a set of Exemplars on iSpot for each taxon (not only species, but genera, tribes, etc)?

Definition:
Exemplar = an observation that is ideal in illustrating (by both pictures and description) the diagnostic features of a taxon.

Question: How to set up a set of Exemplars on iSpot for each taxon (not only species, but genera, tribes, etc)?

The purpose of this project is to showcase observations tagged as Exemplar so that they can be I_Agreed to by users who are convinced that the ID is correct, so as to improve the reputation votes of the observation to the highest for the taxon.

To see the default Exemplars as determined by iSpot's reputation system please see the species surfer.
To change the defaults you simply need to I_Agree to the ID and solicit votes from others so that your observation has more reputation votes than the existing exemplar observation.

A shortcut to your taxon (dont bother with species level: go to the level above that you are interested in) is to invoke the species surfer
http://www.ispotnature.org/communities/southern-africa/species-browser
and add "/taxon" - where taxon is the scientific name of your taxon.
