Aspalathus, a genus of the family Fabacea, is the second largest genus in the Cape Flora with nearly 300 species. They are shrubs, shrublets, sometimes small trees, prostrate, ascending or erect. They are found throughout the area, but some species showing a marked preference for a specific type of soil.

The purpose of this project is to help with the identification of species within this region.
