To present a list of species for the various Reserves and Game Parks in South Africa.

The species lists for the parks and reserves are not easy to find, and in many cases are not up to date. Many are in print, or .pdf format, which means that they may easily become outdated. Much of the information is culled from the Management Plans for the parks and reserves, which are lengthy documents. I have therefore tried to indicate the page numbers in the documents to direct users to the right pages. The lists vary in quality: I have therefore tried to indicate the strengths and shortcomings of the lists and their provenance.

If anyone has better lists which they would like me to put up, please post them and I will incorporate them into this list. Any other comments or suggestions are welcomed on this project.

For Birders: a list of Birds in reserves is to be found here: http://birp.adu.org.za/site_summary.php?site=33232552 , but the list is "pentad based" and is therefore not comprehensive. The Sanparks Lists seem to be good.
http://www.biodiversity.co.za/sitespecies can be used to search for species in an area, or by species, does not provide lists.

http://sibis.sanbi.org/faces/Home.jsp?1=1 can be used to search for species in an an area and you can then generate a species list for that area.

The Fieldguide for National Parks and reserves has produced online lists for many of the parks which can be found here: http://www.parksandreserves.co.za/downloads.php but the lists are not verified and not comprehensive, although a useful one-stop-shop.
