This project is intended to categorize and monitor the species of fauna and flora occurring within the Lowveld Bioregion of South Africa. The Lowveld comprises of the Greater Kruger National Park home to both the 'Big 5' and the 'Small 5005' as well as a diverse range of mammals, birds, reptiles, frogs, insects, spiders, scorpions and plants. Users from this region can post their images of such wildlife on this site and we will try to identify these and provide information on their natural history. A focus will be on monitoring the status of rare, threatened species and various other 'flagship species'. Another emphasis will be on migratory birds which spend the summer months in the region. Information shared about these species can provide useful information in terms of monitoring their population dynamics and recommendations for mitigation of their threats further on the flyways up Africa. As such this project aims to serve as the ultimate "virtualgamedrive" by answering questions to 'guests' and providing information and insights into the natural history and conservation of fauna and flora of this fascinating Bioregion.
