Found on the wall this morning, near the Loquat tree. Yesterday was very cold and wet. I have no idea what to feed this pillar. I tried Loquat leaves. At first looked very promising, but tonight the poor pillar is looking for a way out.
The larva was not interested in any leaves I gave it. By 22 August 2017 I thought the larva was dead. Kept it in the container, just in case it was ready to pupate.
25 August 2017 I noticed the exuviae and discovered the next instar of the larva. Finding food is now crucial. What do these larvae eat?
16 September 2017: The pillar would not eat anything from my garden. Reading about Tussocks eating a wide variety of plants and knowing Sickle Bush is eaten by many creatures, I found Sickle Bush Cuttings and the pillar turned into a very handsome critter, feeding happily on Sickle Bush. Found at least 2 more exuviae. One more to come? Did I miss one? Pupated 26 September 2017.
