Flowers pale yellow and occur in the axils of leaves or leaf bracts. The flower head forms a dense spike. Flowering in March and a single plant. Growing within the grasses. The leaf margin is toothed. First of this species I have found. Sends up numerous flowerhead spikes. Flowers on the other spikes closed. Flowers only opened mid morning.
