Observation - Amphithalea flava - Southern Africa. Description: About 1m high reseeding shrublet with a growth habit not unlike that of Metalasia pulcherrima. As you can see, the leaves are clasped against the stem and not prickly. I don't think that I have ever seen this plant before. We only saw it in this one lo

About 1m high reseeding shrublet with a growth habit not unlike that of Metalasia pulcherrima. As you can see, the leaves are clasped against the stem and not prickly. I don't think that I have ever seen this plant before. We only saw it in this one locality during the 2 day hike. At the same locality was a stunning Relhania and an Amphithalea, also not seen anywhere else during the 2 days.
