Observation - Tiny ants - Southern Africa. Description: Body length 1.8mm and a bit. Attracted to watermelon juice. About a dozen of them, foraging in a loose formation.

Looks to my untrained eye like a single-noded petiole?
Antenna: Scape plus about 10 segments? Would need a microscope to count 'em properly.

EDIT: Found the ants in the same location. Tried to get better shots but it appears my macro lens is at its limits of usefulness for these tiny ants.
Added the 3 last photographs (Doubled their pixel dimensions so they'd appear larger when viewed at max in iSpot).
They still measure 1.8mm, but can swell to exactly 2mm after having imbibed sufficient watermelon juice!
