The plant grew as isolated dense mats in amongst sandstone and on rocks in the area. Some of the mats were a meter wide. The leaves were small, approx 1- 2 mm in length, and tightly clustered in a rosette-like arrangement. The leaves were covered in fine hairs. There was no sign of any recent flowering. The leaves appeared as "isolated" clumps (first photograph), and some were seen to be at the end of fine stick-like branches as shown in the second photograph.
